When you meet Dr.Sherita Lee, you don’t just see a nurse — you see a visionary, a healer, a leader, and a living testament to perseverance. A dual-certified Family and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Sherita has built her career on faith, purpose, and an unshakable belief that where you start does not determine where you finish.

Owner of Lee’s Medical Practice & Consulting, LLC
She is the proud owner of Lee’s Medical Practice and Consulting, LLC, a certified minority women-owned healthcare clinic committed to accessible, culturally competent, and patient-centered care. What began as a dream has blossomed into a thriving practice dedicated to closing healthcare gaps and empowering the communities that need it most.
From Teenage Motherhood to Trailblazing Success

“People talked about my mother when she had me at 16,” she recalls. “But now all they can say is, ‘Darlene’s daughter is a boss — the big one, not the little one!’”

Born to a teen mother, Sherita’s story is deeply rooted in resilience. Raised by her mother and grandparents, Sherita learned early the value of hard work and faith. Their sacrifices instilled in her the discipline and determination that now fuel her professional and entrepreneurial success. “They never let me settle for less,” she says.
“Their belief in me taught me that your beginnings don’t define your destiny — your perseverance does.”
A Nurse, a CEO, and a Changemaker
Sherita’s professional journey reflects her belief in treating the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. After years of serving in traditional healthcare settings, she recognized the gaps in access, especially among underserved and minority communities.
Her response? To build something different.
At Lee’s Medical Practice and Consulting, Sherita provides primary care, chronic disease management, women’s health, psychiatric services, and therapy, all under one roof. Her clinic also offers consulting services for healthcare professionals aspiring to open their own practices — extending her mission to mentor the next generation of nurse entrepreneurs.
“What sets us apart is intentionality,” Dr. Lee explains. “Every patient is treated like a person, not a number. We listen, respect their background, and meet them where they are — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.”

For Dr. Sherita Lee, healthcare isn’t just about treating illness — it’s about building trust and helping patients take charge of their lives.
“I wanted to create a space where patients feel seen, heard, and truly cared for,” she shares. “My goal is to bridge the gap between physical and mental health.”
Entrepreneurship with Purpose
In addition to her clinic, Sherita co-owns Veteran Care of Arkansas and Lee’s Elite Electric. Her entrepreneurial portfolio reflects a powerful mindset: one that sees opportunity not just for herself, but for the people around her.
“I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit,” she says. “What drives me is legacy — creating something lasting for my family and community.”
Balancing multiple businesses isn’t easy, but for Dr. Lee, it’s all about faith, structure, and support. “I balance it with prayer, a supportive team, and strategic planning. You can’t do it all alone, but you can do anything with purpose.”. She and her husband also invest in real estate, offering quality, affordable housing that helps tenants build stability and improve their lives. Through every venture, Dr. Sherita Lee remains committed to creating opportunities that uplift others and transform lives from the inside out.
Empowering Communities, One Patient at a Time
Community impact is at the core of everything Sherita does. Recognized as Lafayette County Leadership Council’s Woman of the Day, she’s a fierce advocate for reducing healthcare disparities and increasing access to mental health services.
“There are major gaps in access to mental health care, culturally competent providers, and health literacy,” she notes. “We’re working to close those gaps by offering telehealth, bilingual services, and patient education. We’re not just treating illness — we’re promoting wellness and empowerment.”
Her definition of success is collective, not individual, stating, “It’s not enough for me to succeed; I want to bring others with me.”
Dr. Lee’s journey wasn’t easy. There were moments of doubt, financial strain, and long nights of studying while balancing motherhood and work. But through every challenge, she held on to her “why.”

“I knew I was called to serve,” she says. “And every obstacle I faced became a lesson — not a limitation.”

Faith, Family, and the Future
Faith anchors every decision Sherita makes. “My faith is the foundation of everything,” she shares. “In the moments I wanted to give up, God reminded me why I started. Every challenge I overcame was part of His plan.”
Now with her doctorate degree completed, Sherita is expanding her vision. She plans to add community wellness programs, satellite locations, and mentorship initiatives for nurses pursuing entrepreneurship.
Her advice to others:
“Start with your ‘why.’ You don’t have to have it all figured out to start — just take the first step. Progress beats perfection every time. Surround yourself with a supportive tribe, stay teachable, and believe that you’re capable of more than you can imagine.”
